Mobile money (Tanzania)

Request M-Pesa, Mixx by Yas, Airtel Money and HaloPesa payments and wait for them.

The Mobile Money node requests payments in Tanzania through ClickPesa: M-Pesa, Mixx by Yas, Airtel Money and HaloPesa. The customer gets a PIN prompt on their phone, and the workflow can wait until they pay.

Set up

  1. Open a ClickPesa account. Payments go directly to it; Triggerflow never holds the money.
  2. Create an API key in ClickPesa and save the client ID and API key as a ClickPesa credential.

Request a payment

Add a Mobile Money node with the operation Request payment:

  • Phone: the customer's number, for example from the WhatsApp message.
  • Amount in TZS.
  • Order reference: a unique ID for this payment.

Wait for the payment

Choose how long to wait (Wait up to, 1 to 60 minutes) and how often to check. The workflow pauses (the execution shows waiting) and continues on:

  • the Paid output when the payment succeeds, with the payment details in $json.payment;
  • the Not paid output if it fails or the time runs out, so you can send a reminder or cancel the order.

Important

  • ClickPesa has no test mode: test with small real amounts on your own number.
  • New ClickPesa accounts have limits (number of API calls and amount per day) until their business verification is complete.
