Work with data

Transform data

Edit Fields, Split Out, Aggregate, Sort, Limit, Summarize and the other data nodes.

These nodes change items without writing code.

NodeWhat it does
Edit FieldsAdd, change or remove fields on every item; optionally keep only the fields you set
Rename KeysRename fields
Split OutTurn an array field into one item per element
AggregateCombine all items into a single item (for example a list of names)
SummarizeSum, count, average, minimum or maximum across items, optionally grouped
SortSort items by one or more fields
LimitKeep only the first or last N items
Remove DuplicatesDrop items whose chosen fields match an earlier item
Date & TimeFormat, add to or subtract from dates
FilterKeep only items that match conditions (see Branch with IF, Switch and Filter)

Typical patterns

  • Clean up an API response: HTTP Request → Split Out (on data.results) → Edit Fields (keep only what you need).
  • Daily totals: Data table (get rows) → Summarize (sum amount, group by branch).
  • One message for many items: Aggregate (name into a list) → Slack with {{ $json.name.join(", ") }}.

When a transformation is too specific for these nodes, use the Code node.
